I lost semi finals at mshs when I thought I had enough fuel for one more pass. Car opened the bypass when fuel pressure dropped a tick. Now I don't run more than a needle thickness below 1/2 and running hard on pump gas your on borrowed time IMO. Adding an octane booster might as well run race gas and keep the engine clean IMO.

The tank design on these cars aren't my favorite. I can't even drain the whole tank through the fuel tank. The 2 part saddle or whatever it is is frustrating. I think a better design could have been done.
the restrictor fitting / kit that OST sells works great an allows the fuel pump to pump both sides empty. car won`t start until fuel is added........... it works that good.

this thing is so simple an works so well.
so the way it works............. the 1/16 inch hole is a restriction causing pressure in the fuel line as well as slow the flow which causes the pump to pull from both tank saddles till empty.
without that tiny hole the pump will cavitate quick an will not pull fuel from opposite side.
all it is, a fuel line fitting with small automotive frost plug shoved in the end an then drill a 1/16 hole. the fitting is made by fore. attach hose of your choice on the end.

the key to it is that restriction.

race fuel is so expensive I want to pump all of it out after being at the track.
save for next time.

the rib on that fore fitting is thicker than factory steel fitting making it harder to install an remove lock clip so I suggest a oem fitting off a car at the wreckers an make your own.

OK, so this fitting goes at the fuel line connection at the fuel rails ?

Wonder if this would put too much pressure on the F pump ?

I know what your saying @Speedy! but my tune is very conservative, tuned on 93 with 13* timing, then I add a little boostane for insurance.
Race fuel would be cleaner I guess but I'm at similar octane level with what I do.

Maybe FMSI has something that would work. They have lots of repair lines for fuel systems. You know like the gm fuel filter repair stuff.

I can help with what I can. Practice is the most of it. I get lots of practice.
What I do won't necessarily work for you with the added power. We can talk in person in a couple of months at the track.
Unless someone gives me an excuse to go out your way at some point.😉

@Mean Cat my comments are directed more toward folks who come across this thread down the road. You're comfortable with the octane boosters and the deposits, but I get asked about it all the time. I'm of the opinion it's cumulative and folks need to understand that when making decisions for their cars. Not everyone gets educated and just read the "headlines" as it were.

When testing my 93 tune I put 2.5 gallons of 109 in 5 gallons of 93 and it gets me right about 98 octane as well but mine's quite a bit less than 13° in that tune depending on where we are in the aircharge table.

It takes a LOT more than 13° of timing for my car to trap over 140mph. Granted I don't get that crazy TX air you guys have but I'm not sure that's enough to make up the difference. I ran a 9.70 at 140.77MPH with a 1.425 60' last April in +800 DA on 109 octane race fuel tuned to match as a reference so I know what it takes for my car to get there. I'll blame the sunroof :ROFLMAO:

After an oil analysis report came back with some odd lead readings a while back I won't be running anymore leaded fuel either, so I'm probably more conservative than most.

Your car is doing really well for what it's got IMO.

not at all, just enough to make it work. I have a hoist an I find it easier to do the disconnect at the frt of the tank, I find at the fuel rail to be a pain.

And we are talking about this working for the stock hellcat fuel pump ?

I still have a stock pump with a JMS booster.
under normal driving your pump is under far more stress from higher pressure.
this would work on yours for sure.
