You have any plans of trying out some race fuel?

I normally start racing with 1/2 tank, it'll go down to a little over a 1/4 tank, that's enough to get back home 1 hr. away. I try to fuel back up at the Shell by my house.

I hope you can get back to the track soon.
I can`t run less than half a tank or it falls on its face now.

no..... just low level, fuel all goes to the rear on launch an pump basket gets sucked dry for a moment.
you can see it in the log. the quicker the car gets the more fuel level is needed.

First time I ever felt that was on the 1st day my Hellcat started the T&T and R&D process. We learned real fast about that! That feeling really had me upset.
Yes, and it was seen in the logs! Added Fuel and lowered my ET's..........That's when Top Cat/John sent his Challenger to HHP. More logs, added injectors and so on!

Linda :)

Well, I learned my lesson, that was the first time the low fuel hiccup happened to me & hopefully the last. At the time I didn't think I was that low yet, gauge showing right at 1/4 tank. I'll have to stop racing when it gets to a little above 1/4 tank now.

No, I'm going to stick with 93, I don't even want to do e85.
I'm on the edge of what can be achieved on 93 but that's ok, I'm not gonna be trying to chase more & more & start having more & more issues where I don't enjoy it anymore because I'm working on it all the time because it's broke.

WOW, that crazy that you need that much, or it'll hiccup stall.

When I first started racing I would go close to a full tank. Figured worse case for weight. Then as I started to go faster I tried to find ways to lose weight. Less gas is easy weight reduction. My 87 Mustang I installed a sump at the back on the factory tank. It was getting gas from the factory location through a line that went into the tank so installing a sump the line was shorter being I was already running duel external pumps that were mounted at the back of the car so it was an easy upgrade and never ran out of gas.

These cars will not be that easy

I don't mind tinkering or working on it or doing upgrades to make it better or stronger but hope to not have to be working on it because of blown engine or trans, the real expensive stuff.
But racing it, things can & will happen anyway, I don't want to push my luck.

Yep, in my 97 Cobra I had a sump gas tank.

I never have my Boostane with me at the track, never needed to but after the low fuel thing, I'm going to take it with me from now on, there's a gas station right down the street from the track. If I get too low on gas & if there's still time for good racing, I'll go get a little more gas.
I won't race it without putting some boostane in. To cruise around I'm not worried about it.

Hard to believe Dodge didn’t engineer this issue out of the vehicle. They didn’t think people were going to drag race these cars and expose them to sudden acceleration where all the gas is pushed to the back? Jeez🙄

Congrats Robert. Nice work.
As for the fuel I try to keep it at 1/2 tank.
No danger of missing fuel or getting caught up in conversation or whatever and lining up to find out you have less gas than you need.
Don't ask.

Ok I will elaborate for the safety of others.
The car stumbled a little and picked up and then did it again. This time when it picked up it lit the tires up around the 1/8. I know this because I saw my 1/8 time change on the board through my windshield as I was gathering my shit up. Possibly inhaling some of the seat up the wrong end. 😯
Times like these are why I never shut everything off. Sport works for me as the stability control does help slow drama down even at over 100mph.
Now I add gas if I get to 1/2 tank. I don't care if I carry 20lbs more fuel or whatever.
If that concerned me I could pull weight out.
I don't probably because @Hpindy keeps trying to get me too. 🤣🤣

I agree, these heavy cars are not gonna notice 20 lbs., at least on the tail end of car.

I also never turn off the TC either.

The tank design on these cars aren't my favorite. I can't even drain the whole tank through the fuel tank. The 2 part saddle or whatever it is is frustrating. I think a better design could have been done.
