I’m almost sold on those heat shields you have. Any way you could take a heat gun reading with and without it of the intake tube/surrounding area?
I could but what I could tell you is the tube is hot as hell without the shield by touch and with the shield in place, it’s the same temperature as the inlet air. Without the shield the tube has 200F air from the radiator blowing on it, yea, it gets about that hot without the shield, especially in stop and go traffic or idling with the hood closed gets real hot without the shield.

2016, yes, MAF sensor. Yes, they sell them, I’ve heard they want around $600 for the box, tube, coupler, seals, new hose and sensor mount for clean side PCV. They match up perfectly to the bottom air intake port as well, and the headlight intake tube too, nice fit. Mine came with a huge filter as well. Intake pipe is 125 mm on TB side and 7” on filter side. They’re trying to make up for losses on blowers with them. Lol.
LOL! I bet. Ever since my 4.5 I’ll never go with them again. But that intake box and intake seems like a really nice sealed fit. Does it seal around the hood good by the vent?

$600 is a chunk of coin, but might be better than my JLT and box. Also looks like the box will clear my chiller lines - had to notch my JLT box to fit them

The source said Champion was chosen over NGK because of scheduling constraints, among other reasons.

Well that is not a warm & fuzzy answer

It's not like champion is a junk plug. It's just not the best for this application considering we did alllllll of dodge's R&D for the 170 for them since 2015.

If I had one and was using it per the established norm and according to the manual and it curt cobain'd itself...that's dodge's problem not mine. Also since you'll be out of a car indefinitely and a comparable should be provided on a Halo car...beat that loaner like a 3 dollar hooker.

Personally, never been a fan of Champion plugs, nor come across anyone who was.

They were the spark plug way back but then Autolite became the next big thing.

yep, Autolite was king when I got into racing, and was all I ever used until I stopped. But they have really fallen in the last 5-10 years, and wouldn't touch them today, beyond the old stock I have on hand from before they were outsourced to God knows where.

Coming up on time for the first oil change. I hate to ass | u | me it's 7qts like other models? Surprisingly the owner's manual doesn't even stipulate 6.2L capacities, stops at 5.7. Strange.

Figure I'll hit the dealer for the SRT PUP and a SRT filter for this first change. I'll grab a couple other small parts while I'm there like the missing plastic clip for the windshield washer hose.

From what I’ve seen on the 170s 2 QTs over so 9 😅

FYSA PUP is currently $55.25 for 7 quarts on Amazon.
FYI - a couple o' PUP tips for my Hemi buddies on here:

1. It's on sale this month at NAPA for $7.69/qt, plus Pennzoil has a rebate for up to 10 qts good until October 2024, so if you hurry up and get NAPA's sale price (act TODAY!) and do the rebate, out the door cost for me was $5.67/qt for 10 quarts.

2. My Amazon account for the last 6 months or so every once in a while will have a small quantity (like 1 to 3 cases) of PUP for sale as as "used" for even lower prices - this is from Amazon itself, not another seller on Amazon. I have bought a couple cases for $36.XX/case and one at $41.XX last week. They currently have one case sitting on there for $43.15. The only thing wrong with it is the case box may have minor damage and/or tape has ripped off some of the writing. There has been nothing wrong with the quart bottles inside on all I have bought so far.

Me too. When had for the right price, it is a great value for the quality. I use it my entire fleet. I love it.
