I'll try to grab some pictures soon, knew I should have while doing it but yeah, didn't. Basically the sub fits snugly in the foam spare tire area tray side to side. There is room aft and forward of it. The wiring to the sub exits the passenger side next to the battery. So I cut a rectangular...
A little update:
I completed installing the 10" JL ACS110LG-TW1. Set the turn on to DC signal (using high level inputs) and the amp does seem to turn on and off as desired without the need for running a remote trigger. It likely would be easy to use a power on ignition from the nearby fuse box...
That sounds good. I hope this works out as well with the HK system.
I've acquired a JL acs110lg-tw1 and fit it to the foam spare tire well insert. I trimmed the foam instead of the cover and cut an access hole in the side next to the battery for wiring. I've tapped the center woofer on the rear...
Definitely let us know how it goes. My car no longer worries me, I've got almost 7k miles on her now and since the new AGM non OEM battery replacement, its been somewhat better and never failed to start. Maybe she is broken in good and all loosened up now? Maybe the stock battery just sucks...
I don't think you are alone. I've read a lot lately while trying to figure out what to do and saw complaints exactly like you describe. I don't think mine does this but I'll play with it a bit in the future to be sure.
I've read about this (other forum) I think it was 2016? I'm assuming the newer cars would be complaint with the updated software. Never know though I guess. Would be nice if a software issue was the problem and a re-flash could dramatically improve things.
Yeah, I'll admit that my hearing is not perfect (years of working around loud aircraft) and its possible that something is not working to speck in my car. Also it seems that the HK system in the Challenger is more likely to please its owners that those that have Chargers probably due to having...
I think a line out converter shouldn't be needed if whatever amp you use has high level inputs. The amp should then be doing the same thing as a line out converter. However, if the system rolls off bass too much at high volume levels (OEM method often used to protect crap speakers) something...
Thanks for your input, much appreciated!
I'm getting close to just getting the JL ACS110LG-TW1 and trying it out. My main concern at this point is where to tap the source. Is the HK the same as the Alpine (full signal correctly biased drivers side rear)? Does the HK factory amp use crossovers...
The sounds of the power plant definitely makes up for a lot of the poor audio performance. However, good performance from both systems would be nice, particularly after paying the almost $2k for the audio upgrade. While I usually don't listen to music on local drives, this car is my daily and I...
I have a 2019 Dodge Charger Hellcat with the optional Harman Kardon sound system. I have not been happy with the sound but am not looking to spend a ton of cash fixing it. My main issues are the system does not get loud enough and the bass sounds like crap (well really it all does). For now I'm...
I used one of these on my prior car for surf boards:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006Q4ATA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I noticed no paint damage after use (made sure paint was clean before install.) They make similar products for larger boards like SUP's. Negatives...
Ordered some Pennzoil Platinum on Amazon a week ago. The items Amazon page warned that delivery was delayed for non critical items and gave a delivery date of mid April. I ordered anyway as I don't anticipate needing it for some months. It showed up today. They mush be catching up on orders or...
This gives me an idea, what if...I put my car on jack stands and ran the timers? Bet I could get some good times...and probably fall off the stands and go through the front wall of my garage...still thinking about it..
Update regarding how the SLiPLO product has been working out for me. Just did an oil change and was under the car so I checked on how the product was holding up. After about six months, all are still in place and have performed well. No new scratches or damage to the bumper. No lost pads despite...
