Talk about inflation, I got a price about 6 months ago on two 10x18 somewhat special drag wheels I want for my Red Eye. They wanted $650 each. Called yesterday and they now want $1,050 each. That’s just greedy price gouging in my book.
Material prices are out of control.

It's really not gouging. I sell wheels and tires for 1320 wheels, as well as all sorts of other parts through my business. I bought my car in October 2020. Ordered a set of wheels and rear tires in October 2020. After waiting 6 months I canceled the order, but within that 6 months Weld had two price increases. It's not the sales companies gouging, it's the price of materials, production etc. Everything is going up in price currently. Food, clothes, rent, house prices etc. It's just inflation plain and simple unfortunately

You still shouldn't need a tire that tall
If you have any advice to make a 28" tire work, I'd love to hear it. I did have decent luck this past Saturday after swapping shocks but noticed both outer axle boots leaking when I swapped my street tires back on (possibly due to shocks allowing more squat and messing with axle angle?). I only made two passes Saturday, the first I left soft on, the second I left harder, but still wasn't leaving on everything. I'm also leaving in 2nd gear

There has been plenty of people going mid 9's with 28' tall tires. Could play with timing on launch and make it a little softer. Control arms have helped some getting the tires square to the ground. I will say from my experience this last year the 3.09s were a little harder to hook. I'm going back to the 2.62s for a few reasons. Racerx ran 3.09s with a 28" tire and was mid 9s.

Could be more of a thought if you have 2.62s go with a 28" and if you have 3.09's you may need the 29.5" Simon was low 9's high 8's and ran a 3.09 with 29.5"

I got springs, control arms, diff brace, trailing arms and recently shocks.
I think I might can hook with the shocks now, but ever since I went e85 I’ve only been able to leave hard once

for tx2k I have to run a DOT tire. I’d really like to try leaving in first.
maybe it’s my car, maybe it’s tires, maybe it’s track prep, maybe it’s elevation but I’ve not had great luck on a 28” tire and I have 4 weeks to figure something out

I mean I’m going upper mid 9’s on a 28 now, but it’s hard to be consistent when you can’t leave the line consistently

Looked up Drag radial storage.

Says I should be storing my tires on their side. 851E349D-AAC6-4D3C-9DA0-B17696F3B452.jpeg
