It would seem that you can, if the quick Internet search I did is any indication.

(I have not tried it!)

Can anyone confirm or deny?

The power loss with the cat update only affected a handful of ppl who were early adopters. The software was corrected fairly quickly & is no longer an issue. Some of the ppl who had the issue originally still claim the 'fix' did not fully correct their cars. I waited till the dust settled & had mine done with zero issues.

Never heard of anyone back leveling with Uconnect, would be afraid I'd brick the whole damn unit - LOL !

Assuming there is some "function" to load software from a USB or SD card and you can simply select the file to be loaded, theoretically you could load any version you want.

Guy that goes by Ccso77 on the other forum figured out P/Ns that would plug and play swap Uconnect for the new models. There had been some discussion of heated/cooled seats and other items not working but for 2016 and up it's a drop in replacement. For 2015 models you'll need a body control module (BCM) from a 2016 and get it flashed with your car's VIN, then it will also work.

Two things aren't perfect. Launch Control is stuck at 1,000 RPM (although mine goes to 1,500 which I think is the last setting I used on the old Uconnect) and the Intercooler Coolant Temp doesn't register. Not sure if that's a software problem or a sensor problem. When I swap to the Redeye supercharger next month I'll know if it's the sensor.

Install took 30 minutes. Took about 4 hours for all the software to update. Locking the car and moving the key fob away for an hour "may" speed that up.

Hey @Speedy! I didn't see the PN's on your YouTube post.

PN are in the vid. Itll work on 2015 but you have to add the 2016 bcm as well and have your vin flashed.

Strange how East Coast Mopar parts indicates this part does not fit a 2022 Challenger Hellcat or Redeye. Did you get this message when you ordered? It is however $200 cheaper then Steve White.

The PNs on these components seems to change with some regularity. I believe the actual MMU PN is a 2019 but AFAIK they're all the same after 2018. I just used the same PN the guy I got the info from used since I figured it had the best chance of success.

Great video, Speedy! I've wanted to do this to my ‘16 for some time. I thought the only option was to go through infotainment.com because I was under the impression the radio had to be programmed to your vin prior to install. You mentioned at the end of the video that in a manual car, there might be more steps to take. Do you have any additional information about what those steps might be? Thanks!

There was a function, it was used to root the firmware. Dodge patched it and now all files to be loaded have to be digitally signed by a private key. If they dont match then the system won’t load it.

I would not mind updating my headunit to get some of the newer features, and as far as the IC temp thing, I do not rely on mine there anyhow.

My 2015 had the whole UConnect Access issue that degraded the functions of the Performance Pages until I went thru the soft reset. Since then the IC temp and IAT are swapped for the readout values on the main screen, between the steering wheel on the EVIC is the actual reading for IC temps that I rely on....was nice initially to see all of them together in Gauges 1 and 2.

I don't have a ton of info other than what I happened across researching mine. I think the key is a 2016 BCM for starters. That seems to be the case with all of these. There is a guy on the other forum with a 2016 M6 that did this swap and it all worked for him.

Took the car out for a long drive yesterday and really enjoyed having the new unit in the car. It does a few things that are much more intuitive than the old one, like you can load your 4 favorite gauges on the performance pages home screen so they're always right there. It remembers what page of the performance pages you were on in gauges, stuff like that.

Sorry if I I missed it but what was the total cost to do the swap (for parts)?

Thank you for the info! I was waiting to see what the final run from Dodge had to offer, but it looks like I'll be holding on to this one. The cost of this is worth it to me. I have the new radio in my Jeep and love it.

$1693.80 if you need the BCM.
