Same here pretty much on Long Island. If you go to a car hang out on a Friday or Saturday night and things start getting rowdy, first thing cops due is a walk- around the lot and give tickets for expired inspections and no front plates. Plus if your moving it just gives them an excuse to pull...
Can't really decipher anything other than just a plain old belt failure from the photos. I've heard a lot of bad things about the green belts. They have very little give. Mainly they're too stiff and harsh on snout bearings. I've switched to black (Which BTW I have installed a Litens now and...
Was thinking the same. My nephew has one on his Vette that's Procharged (can't recall the name but it's not the names we see commonly on the Mopars). It's located @same distance as the Mopar fender mounted ones and he says in winter when he drains it he gets mostly water. In summer he gets none...
I only read about the RE having larger squirters and stating that's the reason why they went to a bigger pump. Never knew about the head gaskets.
Great pics and info all around. Nice job!
Everything is also done on a $cost basis within the big picture of production to a corp. Even 3000 is a 'large' number when multiplied by $100 or whatever they would pay for a large production for a 'really not necessary' piece according to the bean counters. Imagine if they applied it to all...
Didn't mean to offend (if I was even being referenced to as part of the bashing). Just stating what I have talked to others about (price) and how Diablo has lost market share. You gotta admit most are using HPT.
BTW I respect your work and so does Jim at TrueStreet. When I dealt with him @4yrs...
That's almost an impossibility. From what I understand the RE and SS are the same motor. They supposedly run these (the RE's anyway) for 45min's for break in before being released for assembly line install. Only way you could get a bearing knock is no oil on start up or just flat abuse. Like...
I'm not a computer genius (as you know) but the only disadvantage to inferred I can see is the time it takes to 'read' the fuel. But once the fuel in the tank is mixed to whatever the mix is at that time it becomes a constant and the inferred should work perfectly. No?
Or '16GoManGoHC2 Got it goin' on!' . More flash gets more reads. LOL. Seriously, shorten that handle, I get carpo tunnel punching it in every time.
Jim's a great guy. I've dealt with him before when he (actually AJ at the computer helm) tuned my old '09 Magnuson charged SRT. It's not that I've heard negative things about Diablo it's just not the most widely used anymore. Plus I heard the hardware/software is way more expensive than HPT. (I...
Was wondering about this a few years back when VVT became a 'thing' on new engines and I still had my solid roller, straight up, big block Chevy. How do you even degree one? I guess it's all done 'straight up' before the hydraulic magic movement kicks in. I never did a VVT motor so I wasn't sure...
Ding ding ding! Correct on all accounts. The new Litens kits have a washer if needed. (mine as yours, also didn't need one). Good to know it's not common or widespread. And yes many big house tuners still use Diablo. I'm taking my car to TrueStreet in a few weeks for a tune and they also use...
When I was getting my car wrapped there was a Rolls Royce convertible getting wrapped also. On the back panel under the rear window, the area was completely covered in like a teak wood (looked like a boat deck). For some reason condensation, heat, or some combo builds in that area and completely...
@Speedy! and @nate-roth . I had problems with a Litens 3.17 awhile back that I posted on here with pics. Was getting real rattley, marble noises coming from the blower snout. Turns out that was an early prototype that wasn't supposed to be sold to the public. Just recently installed a brand new...
