Low mileage 15's in the 40;s...that's a steal...and an affordable ms auscle car deal for secondary buyers....
It's a steal except you can get a new Redeye for mid 50's. Granted it will be stripped down versus the used 15-16 but makes for a hard decision. I'm probably going for the used one since I prefer a manual car. Not complaining if I can find the right car for 45 or so....but people thinking their used 15 which is now just about out of warranty is worth closer to 50 are off the mark in my opinion.

I had a TH for nine months and traded it for a CTS-V. Why? The only thing that was fun about that SUV was launching it from a dead stop. All other driving dynamics felt weird due to its size, torque steer was present since it has AWD and the build quality was average at best. The CTS-V is actually fun to drive and a better quality vehicle for the same money. Still love the RE and will keep it for the foreseeable future, but don't miss the TH at all.
Absolutely agree Chevyave. I traded my TH after 7 months... there was no thrill to the experience outside of the launch.
Certainly can't disagree with either of you, but I wonder what the appeal of the Hellcat would be to most buyers after 6-7 months and 2-3 sets of tires...
Other than burnouts, gapping people on the highway, and running 10s at the dragstrip while eating a cheeseburger, what is left?
For me, it's still a "loaded" (by Dodge standards) and an otherwise beautiful and enjoyable vehicle. I paid a premium for the HP, but certainly could have gotten leather and heated steering wheel for $40k less if I just wanted a Charger. Driving dynamics are what they are, you're driving an SUV ... but everyone outside of the MOPAR community shits on the driving characteristics of the HC because she is a little thick too.
You bring up a valid concern of mine, that if the HP effect starts to wear off, is there still enough there to keep me interested. I think a launch would cure me... or a pulley and fuel system... and then it'd be back again for a little while. I go through vehicles like some people go through underwear. Actually my underwear has lasted 3-4 vehicles at this point, so when things get old or something else gets more exciting, I'm pretty quick to move on.

If those REs stay at 55...its inevitable that those mid 40 15-16s drop by 10 grand or so...cant see how that doesn't happen....

Hiester Dodge in Lillington, NC has had the same white Trackhawk sitting on its lot for 2 years now. They cant get rid of it, it's just too much money. I agree it looks too much like other Jeep and doesn't stand out. Not worth it....but the HC Durango?!! I hear that one will go for around 81k which is a good bit less than the Trackhawk. We shall see.

If the looks are more important than the performance, why don't we all drive V6 Challengers and Chargers?
Besides, putting a set of those huge Hellcat logo stickers on the sides should take care of the "stands out" part. For cheap.

I guess we have two completely different takes on this. On one side there's "LOOK AT ME!!!" and then there's "please, don't look at me."
I'm firmly in the latter camp. If my Challenger looked like a Hellcat, I wouldn't like it nearly as much. And if the Trackhawk didn't blend in so well, I wouldn't have bought one.

And just to clear the air, there has been nothing said about there not being a 2021 Jeep Trackhawk.

Considering that all indications are the next gen Grand Cheroke is going to be larger than the current model, todays attitude at FCA makes stuffing the 6.2 in the next one almost logical.

True story, but I'm going to need a MUCH better job for that one. I hear there is one in town, but I've still never seen it.
There's actually several Demons in town now, and someone just got a black one(bought froma dealer in Michigan he told me) that drives it quite a bit in the far northeast corner!

The difference with a RE or Hellcat Challenger or Charger are the driving dynamics. Both of those vehicles are better suited to handle the power the 6.2 produces and still provide a fun driving experience. The TH launches violently and that is a lot of fun for a few months but then the average driving dynamics, rough ride, poor gas mileage and torque steer wore thin on me personally. Now before anyone jumps on the poor gas mileage you need to understand you will be lucky to get 11 mpg driving this thing in mixed driving and that is behaving yourself. My point is there are a lot of better vehicles out there for the money that provide a better overall driving experience and that is why I made the decision that I did. Also, yes this thing has torque steer because the maximum you can transfer to the rear wheels is 60% of the power. The other 40% goes to the front wheels and you can definitely feel the steering wheel moving around especially at launch. It is not as bad as a 90's era front wheel drive car, but it is definitely there. If I had to spend the money on a SUV I would purchase a DSRT because my wife has one and I actually enjoy driving that more than the TH that we sold. It is a much more balanced vehicle due to the longer wheel base and only having 475 hp there is zero torque steer and the exhaust note is significantly better.

Hmm, I'm still in break-in hell and haven't been able to do much more than 85 mph, and certainly no full throttle fun, but the Lie-O-Meter claims 14.7 mpg now.
It'll need fuel real soon, so then I'll have an actual mpg figure.

The one thing that surely hurts mileage is the low gearing. It feels like it could use a 9th gear in the tranny.
At 2,000 rpm I'm getting somewhere in the Challenger, not so in the 'Hawk. Maybe taller and skinnier tires are in the future for it?

Have had 3 Jeep SRTs....not a big fan of the Trackhawk (sure I'd take one at a steal).

The Trackhawk is not dead, there's just no place in the lineup for it the first year of the new platform/redesign.

That's what I use to go around curves. Saves wear and tear on the steering components, but does decrease mileage a bit. Especially rear tire mileage.

BLUF: Mash pedal in FWD car, car pulls to left or right.

Happens mostly with FWD cars with decent power. Due to the uneven distribution of power to the front wheels that are "pulling" the car down the road, it will cause the car to veer toward the side with more power distributed.

How bad was the torque steer, and was it dramatically throttle dependent? That's just crappy design.

I'll give them 35,000 cash money. And even come pick it up so they don't have to ship.

If you're right, and it's two years, Gm doesn't know what he's doing. Depending on how they're taxed in NC on inventory they're digging themselves a hole.

38k miles and I’ve never noticed it. Mash it and the thing goes straight. The steering gets light from the rear squat, but it is not torque steer.

And track mode is 30-70 split.

Well I get it.. this is a basic car forum and not a total Jeep/Trackhawk forum.

However I call Bullshit.... on most of the stuff spouted here like 11 MPG..or torque steer..

My personal experience on driving my Trackhawk which now has 26K miles on the ODO from Connecticut to Juneau Alaska and back is..

I never got below 13 MPG driving 125 MPH on I-80/84 for extended stretches (30-50 mile runs) and a couple all out WOT runs at 175 MPH in Wyoming, Nebraska, Oregon,Idaho and the Canadian wilderness...all while carrying 900 pounds of mechanics tools and tool boxes in the back...

The average on a given day running the 80 MPH speed limit was 14-15 MPG..

It performed flawlessly at 140 MPH plus on 4 inches of glare ice/packed snow/ fresh 7 inch deep snow with the OEM Pirellis on the Canadian/ Alaskan highways.. thru British Columbia. and the Yukon .It was nice to climb thru the Cascades at 100+ MPH in the mountains ...while pulling 6-8 pounds of boost...and passing everything in sight...

Most times my fuel range was just under 400 miles per tank.. which is just about the range for my bladder

Yea if all you want is attention.. and to stand out ..the Trackhawk ain't it...

But if you need to carry your life support system and pull a 7K pound trailer halfway across the world in winter conditions with your vehicle being the thing between dying and surviving at 25-35 degrees below zero in the Canadian wilderness.. you ain't doing it in your Hellcat or Demon.

This trip has only reinforced my love and respect for the vehicle.

Ill post some vids and pics when I get a chance...

Please do post up. And while I appreciate all the arguments you have made, I do not believe they truly address what is, for me, the vehicles biggest weakness - that being it's pricing. I, personally, did not say it was not a competent mount.

Pricing is definitely the stumbling point for just about everyone... no argument here.

I have yet to hear anyone say they wouldn't want one if they were more affordable..

Then again Resume Speed hasn't said the Trackhawk is gone from the line up...

He's still around if you know the forum/ and his screen name to find him on
