Wow. Labor contract has provisions for some kind of "failure" feature to void or nullify pay increases? Sabotage wouldn't surprise me.

Pisses me off as it feels the same way here!! This company hates the USA and its workers!
They do the same here, our I status is crazy and we can't buy parts to correctly repair machines! I love my job and this brand but I believe they are trying to kill our plants off.

So are they hoping to build these trucks in some low wage country and ship them to the US and expect them to sell without a V8 for 60k?

How out of touch are they?

Not sure it's actually sabotage, but more just the typical way they do business.

For starters, from the get-go, they said they were really only interested in Ram & Jeep. So no shockeroo they moved to kill off Dodge & Chrysler !

Secondly, take a hard look at their 'crown jewel' franchise - Alpha - known world wide for producing shit cars that are a chronic maintenance headache.
They mostly look good, but there is no substance behind the facade due to corner cutting on materials & build technique. My '23 DDSRT was a prime example. Just for starters there was WAY less mastic (like 50% less) securing the body panels than was evident on my '18 R/T + they dumped the electric/solenoid filler cover release & went to a cheap-ass mechanical push-to-release.

Net is, they will 'Alpha-ize' Ram & Jeep thinking us stupid Americans will continue to pay premium prices for whatever crap they shove out the door just because of the name tag.

The public allows this. They're boneless, single-cell, serfs to the world overlords.

It's wild after doing this video the amount of UAW employees hitting me up about the BS company wide at the plants. It's like they are cost cutting so much so they can milk the brand before abandoning it and selling it off in a few years

At this rate do they really think they can make it last even a few years... and it still have any value left to sell at the end of it all??

I mean, maybe Ford would buy it as a pity sale just to bury the name of their old rival. I can only imagine the press release on that one--Ford now owning the Hemi trademark.

Tesla needs to acquire something to prevent them from burning down all the way.

Well, there's a thought. STA could hold an auction for their trademarks... might actually start a (small) bidding war.

If anything either Tesla or China will own Dodge within 5 years I'm betting. Tesla makes a lot of sense because of all the carbon credits they could use to justify V8 engines and make a ton of profit while keeping the Gov off their backs with fines.

China would easily buy Dodge especially since Stellantis already has an agreement they just signed for them to export cars to literally every region except the US.

China owns chunks of GM and Ford for this same purpose.

Was in a new RAM yesterday, a real nice one. It just quit running. Driver says it does that sometimes. Company I work for purchased many of these. That is BS.
