Are people rebuilding the ZF rear differentials after burning up the clutches or just tossing them? I know some refer to them as throw away differentials, but that just seems crazy when it's only the clutches that are burnt.
If it wasn't for the shipping costs that would be a possibility, unfortunately the cost to ship these things is high. I installed a new 3.09 unit and I have a new take off 2.62 in the garage, so I'm in no rush to rebuild the burnt up 2.62. I'm more so wondering if the rebuilds are happening and where the clutch packs are available at, I can't find them when searching online.
Yes, good news. I hope the marketplace will put together full rebuild kits for these ZF's - clutch kits, bearings, seals, etc. I would imagine a decent sales potential. Those of us in Mopar for the long haul will want some strategic inventory on-hand to keep our rides viable!
We wont be offering full rebuild kits. Send the diff to us and we will send them back. Too many things to go wrong with re-assembly. We have also gotten the rights to import the all elusive crush sleeve from ZF.

That is a lot of money in shipping for just a repair. Most people on here can rebuild diffs.I have been a tech since 91. Have way more tools for engines, diffs and transmissions I know what to do with. And with no warranty either way its going to be a hard sale. IMHO you would make more money selling parts to people or at least shops. Shims that are currently used are from a dana 44. Would be nice to have the crush sleeve though.
