I couldn't tolerate the brake-dust at 850 miles, So, yesterday my friend and I decided to switch-out the brake pads on my Hellcat. WOW....can't believe how long it took. Being super careful, and detail cleaning everything, it took all day. I've done lots of brake-jobs in the past...but this one kicked my ass. Thank God we had it on the hoist, and had everything we needed on hand. I'm sure my brother will have us do his. I also installed the ZL flaps. Another PITA.

First time doing Brembos, not scratching or chipping anything, and never had to remove suspension arms to get to caliper bolts. Just a learning curve. Plus, all the detail cleaning and flaps installed.

There should have been no need to unbolt the calipers, the pads slide out

Do they slide out on the smaller 4 piston SS and Demon calipers also?

I'm extremely anal about clean stuff. Everything is cleaner than when I picked it up, new. All my nice stuff is never dirty. My dragcars are as clean underside, as topside.

Well I'm not one to talk, I've taken my wheels off to clean the barrels and the inside tire walls, and also taken the calipers off just to clean them as well.

As long as you understand that the pads can come out the top of the calipers without removal, that's what's important.

Also, on the rear calipers, when the suspension is "hanging", the rear calipers do have that lower bolt that's trapped, if you use another floor jack and somewhat raise the rear corner you're working on, that lower bolt will have enough room to come out by only raising that corner by about half of the droop.

So it wasn't changing pads but cleaning all the brembo dust off of everything. I had my daytona 2 weeks and the brake pads where changed out

Mine has 25K of brake dust on them since it's still on the original pads.

I like to run it hard and deep into the windies when they're present. I've had 0 problems with the stock pads.
