I just measured my barn, I can fit the lift between the joists (14.5" opening between, lift width is 10.6)). I may need to limit lift a few inches to avoid denting my roof, but it might fit! How can you go wrong for $1k? Maybe I can sell the QJ for 1k?

$1000.00....I as well would have reservations...who knows..maybe you could spend more..and get less..but I would pass..and shop around..I never skimp on junk tools "HF".and both my lifts were not the cheapest by any means...

Well, people seem to be somewhat happy with their $5,000 (delivered) mini excavators. There's some really cheap shit out there.

And as long as it's not my car on a $1K lift, and I'm not under it, it's probably just fine.

Every 4 post lift I've seen in person, including the higher cost models, are made in China. The parts look to be almost interchangeable between brands. Makes it hard to figure out cost vs quality on them. That said maybe the Bend Pak lifts are better quality, although I think they are made in China also

Dannmar is a less expensive version of Bend Pak, and mine has worked well, so far.

I suspect that while it's easy enough to copy any design, with identical looking parts, they may not be of the same quality material, or hardened correctly, etc.

I've been to China. All the competitors factories are literally across the street from each other. At one intersection there was Makita on one corner, Dewalt on another, I can't remember the third, Milwaukee maybe.

It is not much extra effort for a toolmaker to make a 2nd (or 3rd) set of dies, so once some major mfr pays for the development and initial tooling, it is very easy to see why others can make such cheap knock-offs. And confidentiality?!?!?! In China?!?!??!

Hmm. Maybe I should buy a Charger?

That way, if I ever decided to store the Challenger on a lift, having a Charger underneath would soften the landing.
