Is there such a thing as a helmet superstore?

I am driving down the coast to FL next week, so I won't be far from race country. Does anyone know of any Helmet Superstores where I can walk in and try on new SNELL helmets to find one that fits properly? If anyone knows of any stores that stock a wide variety of racing helmets, please let me know and maybe I can fit it into my trip.

Background:

My Snell helmet expires after 2026 so I have one year left. I am not sure I will still be racing at that age but I figure it is always a good idea to have a current helmet handy

I had an awful time buying the one I have, it's not like buying shoes. The first one didn't fit and I was hit with shipping both ways plus restocking, cost about $50 to find out it didn't fit. I was lucky on the 2nd, fits great, but it is a motorcycle helmet. No one ever said I couldn't use it, but it was suggested that it would be better to have a car helmet. I'll take anything that fits.

Helmets are tough, even two of the same size helmets from the same manufacturer in the same model can fit differently, then to top it off, I've been in stores that wouldn't let you try them on without a skull cap, which of course makes them fit differently.

Summit lists over 1000 helmets listed on their site. I'll call them tomorrow and ask how many they actually have available to try.

This is such a PITA, I hoped when I went through it the first time I'd never have to do it again...

The new snell sa2025 helmets are out so make sure you don't get a 2020 or you will lose 5 years. So you must have a sa2015 like myself. I thought it was 12 years 2027 before they expire?

You could always order one before your trip and maybe it will fit. If not then you can make the trip

Guess it isn't 12 years I looked it up. I have an Impact Racing helmet. I see a lot in nitro using them so I went that way and will again. Lots of padding and fits snug

You think you have problems....just imagine what Un Holy Guy has to go through to find a helmet to fit over that Melon Head......( I know..I just cant help myself )
