I thought dodge deliberately chose the 6.2 vrs: the 6.4 because of stroke to bore ratio, and more importantly keeping the rpm in a safe zone. Keep in mind piston feet per second speed increases with longer stroke, and swinging more reciprocating weight or just same weight faster increases dynamic loads imposed on all internals. I personally would not seek more RPM unless cracking open short block and fortifying all reciprocating internals. without going inside the engine my efforts would be spent on cool dense charge with resonable added boost paired with fuel quality and a reputable tuner. Most people with these cars that have gone this route don’t have issues, many with impressive results that last. 7,600-7,800 spins I think is like spinning a Russian roulette revolver, just a mater of time before it comes apart. Most likely very soon even if every thing else is spot on. This is only the bottom end, the top end is not up to the chore as others also have hinted at. I think it’s perfectly fine if you want to take it to the limits of let’s see what this bitch can take if that’s your bag. There are a few here and on the other site that don’t mind trying and breaking. I would like to know how long and what exactly is the breaking point of the part/parts that yield and at what RPM. Carry on let the revs begin.

6800 on my redeye.
6,800 is a lot different than what @NTB is looking at 7600-7800 is just looking for trouble.

Interesting, but did you say whether or not this was the stock valve train or an upgrade???
Nothing is stock on mine, if it was I would be "sweeping it up with a broom". I'm sure Dodge got the Max RPM right for the components that they provided. Perhaps I should have mentioned that it isn't stock first.

What's odd is Tim and AJ work together. AJ says not more than 6500 even on a RE and Tim tunes to 6800 hmmm.

Thank you all for the feedback. I just ordered a Pedal Comm. last night and I know with that I'll need more RPM or an A8 because the Rev. limiter comes up to fast in !st now. Before I can grab 2nd. Ma gave me $hit about spending the cash "like the cars not fast enough already" I want to put in her R/T be for I put it in the Cat.

Mostly, they shortened the stroke to lower the crank pin offset.

Does Barth even tune Hellcats anymore? People in this area have a hard time getting it done.
