I didn't forget about you guys but Day 0 & Day 1 were a hoot. That drive up around Baltimore was hot garbage and only got worse for the all-run cars.

Day 0 we went 9.979 @ 138.50 - sent her a little too hard. That was launching at 1850 and with the 2.65 pulley.

Day 1 was about 10* cooler so we had to do something about the fact it's MIR. We pulled the launch down to 1300 so it made 0 boost at the hit. Still cut a 1.51 60' and went 10.027 @ 138.6 lifting at the stripe.

That however has me sitting 1 after day 1 by .024...didn't expect that at all TBH.

Day 2 is Numidia. Grabbing bite then heading to the track.

Are you foot braking? How are you launching?

We are using Launch Control and have been since drag week last year. Isn't that great for setting PB's but on this car it's been super consistent A-B passes almost every time.

Interesting, it doesn’t bog out on you in the middle of a pass at all and abandon it? I guess since you’re not actually racing the other person in drag week it doesn’t matter and you can sit there as long as you want to get it all set

The results from Day 2 haven't been posted as of this post.

Day 2 from Numidia saw the Diehl Brothers hit the wall at the top end which Essentially totaled the car and shifted the barrier 90* from the impact. Several other big power cars seemed to have issues as well but many improved on their times.

Historically numidia has been a slower track for me ET-wise. Dr. Dial-in calls it about .035 slower than MIR but the temperature was also cooler today. I knew I could put the power back Into it so I dialed up the LC to 1500 which usually hits with 6psi off the line.

The car decided all on its own to flash to 2200rpm and HOLD IT without pushing thru (first shocked face) then after it Launched with no spin (second shocked face) I decided to run it out the back to a 10.046 @ 140.3 - checked the log and it left on 10psi (third shocked face). Not the first time it's picked its own launch RPM but definitely the first it held over 2k without pushing thru. Also the first launch on 10psi. I dunno. It worked though so I'll take it.

You have about 5-7 seconds before it'll cut off the LC. If we both stage as you should...I stand on it immediately and it's never shut off yet unless the guy in the other lane screws me.

In the middle of a pass? It disables itself over 60mph anyway but by then you're well on your way. It doesn't show itself missing a beat in any log I've taken.

I’m most likely going to a 2 step but I most certainly need a redeye torque converter. Wish someone would create a trans brake for these already. All you have to do is activate the 1st and reverse solenoids in the transmission at the same time, which is all done via can bus messages.

If it senses any spin it usually kills the run

And you have a regular hellcat torque converter? That’s very interesting

Regular hellcat converter. Stock untouched now 40,2xx mile old box.

Mine seems to actually try to compensate & correct for it. It doesn't disable when it senses spin. Only once I get past 60mph. If you lift off the throttle at all or touch the brake it will disable however. You must fully release the brake and keep your foot thru the floorboard.

Sounds like fun but that's also how you snap input/output shafts and such. Simple now has billet parts for those and is supposedly resuming real transbrake testing so maybe soon.

Annndddd....

The Hot Rod Drag Week 2025 Day 2 results have been posted for a little over an hour and a half now...

We managed to hang on to 1st place in SME and pushed the lead to .0525 - Again I didn't think the numbers would fall that way but I'm not complaining.

Also...first parts failure in 31k miles of constant ass kicking finally happened. Car puked the thermostat climbing the hills around Maple Grove Raceway. Dropped in a VatoZone special 180* to get us back to normal. We'll add that to the winter maintenance list.

True, but the 1320 and demon have a trans brake. It's so you can actually cut a good reaction time and not worry about pushing through the beams if you rev too high. Doesn't matter what the torque converter flashes to (as I understand it) it will hold you no matter what
