After thinking about it….. racers should be able to tune their cars. Otherwise you ain’t doing nothing. Understood that the factory warranty is voided but if somebody wants to get the most out of a otherwise stock engine/driveline combination then that’s a legit thing to do. It’s still the factory package that came with the stock powertrain parts. Being leaned on without being modded will show the full capability of the package. As long as somebody doesn’t deny doing it then hell yea. How fast will it go with the stock motor.
This shit goes way back as far as my memory works plus a few years
My dad ran a 68 Camaro stock class in 68
Big block 4 speed
I m not sure all the mods
But
Ignition timing
Carb tuning
Lifter adjustments
Tires
Exhaust
Weight reduction
All done

2017 Dodge Hellcat Challenger

It was a Sold a minute after it was announced that the allotment was available deal. Salesmen said all their Cats were marked $10K over sticker. He didn't say what the Demon170 sold for.

Next Friday is the day. Spankintime Motorsports is doing a private track rental at Famoso (Bakersfield, CA). There are 10 invited cars and Ron will be one of them. Famoso is a fast track. The forcast weather is for partly cloudy with a high of 59 degrees. Low 50’s when we start at 10 am. I’m expecting to see DA around 500’. That’s as good as it gets out here. We are paying for a radial prep to get the job done. That means spray as far down as needed. So instead of everybody guessing what the fastest 170 (so far) will do in the 1/4…. y’all going to find out (courtesy of SpankinTime 😘). Other cars there…. Me. One last shot at a blower only number in the 7’s before going to turbos. Got a 2.60 pulley and aggressive tune ready to let her rip. The ‘Blue Car’ with a new Gen Six 3.8 Whipple. Adam will be driving and he says he’s going to shoot for a 7.5 blower only. If he can do that, some people out there will fall over 😝. Max Nichols Magnum (Dragnum) with a new Gen Six 3.8 will run 7’s if the rear end stays in one piece. That car goes straight to Carlin Fabrication for a complete back half (big tire) and 6.5 cage after this week. Also there will be Alex from FullBlown Perf in Los Angles looking to run 7’s with his Escobar Challenger. I’ll post numbers at the end of the day…. 🫡

Any of you guys have a weather machine to get an accurate DA reading at the track?
I use a kestrel so I'm getting my data from the same source. Some tracks are far away from where the readings are coming from to be accurate. Still one time at the track I was reading 3300 but one racer that had some fancy looking thing said it was 4100. I'm looking for consistency for myself so I can keep track and look back at weather and times

For those who wanted to know. Carbon wheel weights.
Front with tire 51.8
Rear with tire 56.4

Ripa said standard wheel combo
front was 59
rear was 64

I believe Dodge said the carbon wheels were 30 lbs lighter so looks to be correct

You can buy a weather station fairly inexpensive from summit.

The more data that was entered, the more accurate it was.

All the bracket guys have these things. I think all in it cost me $1500 back in the day plus a laptop to run it. Worth every damn penny if you ask me.

Let's face it. These cars aren't bracket racers without substantial modifications. Very difficult to go rounds with them.

my opinion ....with the new facts that came out a few days ago. (IF CORRECT)
to get the Carbon Fiber wheels, like $50k. Fifty Thousand. :-(
....I would bag them suckers up, and buy a drag pack!

Those that were lucky enough to get the Carbon factory option wheels should feel extra lucky.

....and I somewhat disagree with consistency/bracket car use.
My SuperStock amazes me with decent track prep... I can run it 5-10 passes a day and it usually sticks within 1-2 tenths & 2 mph.
Those are sometimes damn near back-to-back passes as well. ..but I am not sure about specifically Demon 170s. (?)
