I hear this is Ron’s car… seems he has figured out the launch. Not sure it has the power to carry them for 60’, so that 1.2 60’ is probably on the front tires and not the rears, but impressive nonetheless

I hear this is Ron’s car… seems he has figured out the launch. Not sure it has the power to carry them for 60’, so that 1.2 60’ is probably on the front tires and not the rears, but impressive nonetheless
I would say at least 30 to 40 feet.

Next Friday is the day. Spankintime Motorsports is doing a private track rental at Famoso (Bakersfield, CA). There are 10 invited cars and Ron will be one of them. Famoso is a fast track. The forcast weather is for partly cloudy with a high of 59 degrees. Low 50’s when we start at 10 am. I’m expecting to see DA around 500’. That’s as good as it gets out here. We are paying for a radial prep to get the job done. That means spray as far down as needed. So instead of everybody guessing what the fastest 170 (so far) will do in the 1/4…. y’all going to find out (courtesy of SpankinTime 😘). Other cars there…. Me. One last shot at a blower only number in the 7’s before going to turbos. Got a 2.60 pulley and aggressive tune ready to let her rip. The ‘Blue Car’ with a new Gen Six 3.8 Whipple. Adam will be driving and he says he’s going to shoot for a 7.5 blower only. If he can do that, some people out there will fall over 😝. Max Nichols Magnum (Dragnum) with a new Gen Six 3.8 will run 7’s if the rear end stays in one piece. That car goes straight to Carlin Fabrication for a complete back half (big tire) and 6.5 cage after this week. Also there will be Alex from FullBlown Perf in Los Angles looking to run 7’s with his Escobar Challenger. I’ll post numbers at the end of the day…. 🫡

Ron ran 5.72 in the 1/8 at 120mph.
Based on what I ran that is a 8.92

Phase 1 of our Weight reduction journey with this car, want to document changes
Old weight was 4157 (bone stock, less than one gallon of fuel)
New weight (4045)
Changes:
Ripatuned spec wheel and tire combo
Antigravity h8 lithium battery (actually too large for the car, we will be using a different battery for another 14 lbs in savings)
Front sway bar removed
Titanium lugs
4.5 gallons of fuel in car 6.5lb per gallon (30lb additional)
Overall weight savings 132lbs

My only problem with Ripa's setup is the tires aren't DOT approved. Seems the class that car would be suited for will require DOT tires.

My only problem with Ripa's setup is the tires aren't DOT approved. Seems the class that car would be suited for will require DOT tires.
On a radial prep track (like Legions will provide) he would go faster on M/T Radials. A couple mph on the top end.
