Thanks for posting, Matt, as I'm sure many of us don't stop to read the instructions on something that appears as simple as an air compressor.

I remember the cans of Fix-A-Flat from back in the day said to heat them on the windshield blower before using if it was in the trunk during below freezing temps. That could be a mess!

I've carried this unit from Griot's ($69.99) in my trucks for years. When I got mine I was impressed with the fact it was made of metal, very quiet for a compressor, didn't vibrate itself across the ground (rubber feet), and filled a truck tire quickly even though it ran off a lighter plug. Get it during one of their 20% off sales. Hope they are still as solid and metal as when I got mine.

Hummmm...it's in my 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn but...I don't know if there is a lighter plug in the truck...never checked!

Guys I am a total idiot, now realizing there are 2 hoses haha. I was using the sealant hose trying to pump air. Wow. Well atleast I know my tire repair kit is functioning properly View attachment 11014

Note if your tire is inflated and you switch to goop it will hardly go in the tire and then when your trying to remove it, it will spray everywhere! My problem was on the air setting the thing wasn’t putting psi in the tire was actually deflating. So something was wrong.

All is good now I see !!!

Yeah I remembered I used it at the shore on the right setting and was like wow this works great! Of course with the black hose connected not the clear hose. Was wondering why the psi gauge was 0 when I was pumping it! Was in a rush trying to head to the store.. this is the kinda thing that happens when you arn’t thinking clearly after work heh.

Hey Matt sorry for the fiasco but actually helped me to know how to use one. The Bowtie sharing Video was a really good tool. I know the feeling we all make mistakes thats just who we are and yours may have helped others. And especially for me since I have 4 vehicles with no spare which has this kit that I never ever have used. And as my dad always says “NO Good Deed Goes Unpunished”.

Was just coming around a sharp Curve on the road this morning the opposite direction a Mack truck took it with too much speed unloaded stones on me. Like 200.. Thank goodness I was in my work truck. I’d of chased that guy down like fast and furious in the Charger.

Thing is a POS no matter how you break it down. I tossed the thing almost day one and replaced with an electric wonder pump that I've used for everything from forklifts, semis, and cars. Yes, now in 30 years I won't be able to sell the car for "top dollar" as a stock classic because the POS is not inside the trunk, but oh well. Maybe I should have boxed it in the garage.

OP - don't sweat it, no real harm done right. but read the instructions first. Glad it didn't shoot wildly or deflect into someones eyes.

Haha, well it did shoot wildly. But I managed somehow to not get it on myself and very confined to the wheel and tire and a couple small spots around the perimeter which I got off immediately.

Yeah I said I’d throw it out. But I thought just what you said. So I’ll just clean the residue off the pump and store it in my garage with the foam thing as well. Just Incase 20 or 30 years down the road I do sell..

Lucky the residual goop was easy to whipe off! After 20 minutes of cleaning everything.. just wanted to top off the tires and this happened! Was wild be careful guys.. literally a quarter gallon of milky goop was shooting everywhere as soon as I pulled the line off the tire.

I remember my first time too: I was unsure of what I was doing but prentended like I knew, it didn't last long and I lost control and made a huge mess everywhere too. Embarrassement is a normal emotional response.

Bull I’m not sure what your talking about my compressor is brand new never been used! Who’s ever gonna know? Unless they press the goo button. If I ever sell.. yup compressors right there never touched it. See how that works? Haha
