With the money that the cartels have, they could keep the company that makes these in business for quite awhile. They are in Oregon or Washington....someplace up there. The last time I checked, the price on these was approx $100k +/-. I'm sure they'd be more expensive now.

I remember rolling around Bogota in a white armored Suburban back years ago and almost immediately feeling my false sense of security disappear after recalling the rooftop RPG scene from Clear and Present Danger...

Looking through the windshield would make you sure from the fishbowl effect, doors were incredibly heavy (obviously!) and didn't open all the way and the windows wouldn't go all the way down either, couldn't accelerate, brake or corner for shit. Outside of POTUS' limo maybe, the primary purpose of armored vehicles is to make people feel important and provide them with a likewise false sense of security.

I did NOT mind the armored vehicles that DSS had in one of the umpteen F&F movies however...

Yep, drove those POS's in Iraq. When you got them out on the open highway and could stretch them out they weren't too bad. At least they were better than the up-armored Humvee's, those things were real turds.

Were you there in the late 80's? If so, you were there when we were dropping off some fresh new Blackhawks to the Columbian Air Force. It seems that they needed something a little better than the old Huey's we had given them to go chasing after 'Ol Pablo.

That's who we bought them from. They were in fantastic condition which is why we bought them. We had a crew go to Germany and get them. There were 3 in total. We added the BW swoosh stripe to them right after we took possession.
