I think this is a test balloon for all future new car sales.

They’re actually not cutting out the dealerships, you still work with them unlike Tesla. Just less overhead so surprise, dealers will make more money without the need for salesmen

I've always thought individual dealerships were on the way out...

Independent business has been the backbone of this country forever.

If the process of buying a new vehicle wasn’t such a miserable experience, shit like this wouldn’t happen. Treating customers like shit for years caused this. There’s a reason I haven’t bought a Dodge/Ram vehicle locally since 2004. The only reason I’m in a Ram product right now is I like the service department. The local Ram sales department is the definition of Stealership!

Jenkins here is basically refusing to do warranty work on my DDSRT because I didn't buy it from them & pay their $10k worth of BS fees & useless add-ons.
Even got corporate level Stellantis folks involved and they can't gode them into action. I thought corporate could make things tough on the dealers for refusing to provide decedent customer service but apparently that's gone/very limited or the corp. folks are too timid to actually levy 'sanctions'.

The very same dealership under the old owners always had quality service and they never even asked where you got the car.

Jenkins must be a volume dealer with multiple locations?

They always seem to be able to get away with shit much more than the little dealerships.

They had multiple locations in the area, then bought all of Crystal's dealerships + the Maus Nissan next door (that was sold off by Crystal years ago).
I think they are in WAY over their heads and do not have the financing or breath of management to just double their size in 1 bite like that.
Staff turnover has been insane & there always seem to be a lot of ppl walking around doing ???????

Doesn't matter to me anymore, Hellcat is out of warranty & I will be taking it to an independent shop going forward. Hoping to just get a buy back on the Durango at this point - what a huge mistake that was

I must be lucky, my Ram was bought in Louisiana and the local dealer has never said a word about restrictions on service or warranty work. Their sales department, leaves a lot to be desired, but the service department is acceptable.
