I would be all in on the BMW but not this unproven engine.

If I want a BMW I'll buy a BMW. I've seen the hurricane engine on a stand and it looks hard to work on with nothing around it, couldn't imagine service in a vehicle. This is what happens when Euro-weenies run American car companies.

Yeah, remember reading about 10 years ago. I was hoping it wouldn't be the only ICE option.

I read the entire article. It seems, on the surface, like a pretty well thought out design when considering the realities that auto manufacturers are facing these days. While I'm not big on losing the hemi platform I do think the functionality of an 11/1200 hp gas/electric hybrid could be impressive.

Dodge needs the bodies
What ever they do
They better stick that same old Challenger body on all the platforms

You all probably saw the latest news on this, but in case not.......The new STLA Large platform (think charger) will allow for use of full BEV running gear, 400 and 800 volt, or I6 engine, or transverse ice engine, or hybrid ice/electric. Wheel base, track width and ground clearance will be variable on the chassis, to allow it to be used for a variety of models from road cars to suv;s, etc. Will be rwd, or fwd, or awd, or 4wd. A version of this supposedly will be more powerful than any Hellcat based model ever produced. Can bet at some point they will eclipse D170 performance with it, probably awd hybrid. And from Davidkfla Butters post, ice engine mounting points will be same as current hemi v8's, so engine swaps thru power brokers might be a thing

Read the article above. It goes through this.

It's the Swiss Army knife of vehicle platforms.

Is that army knife a good set of pliers? An awesome saw? A great screwdriver? An excellent can opener?

I've never had or used one. I thought it was just for MacGyver?

If you’re in a dire situation (Stellantis) with no proper tools, it may come in handy. Otherwise, each of blades is a crappy make-do tool. Think Amphicar, shitty car/shitty boat.

I see now. This is what you use to build a banshee?
