Necessities? To me that's steel, car parts, welding supplies, etc. Those are not nearby.

She goes to grocery stores either about 75 miles to the north or a bit over 100 to the south. No pesky stoplights or stop signs until almost there, so not bad drives at all.

Not sure what constitutes a supermarket, but Costco is some 160 miles south.

Necessities...(deoderant...toothpaste...mouthwash...TOILET PAPER..soap...napkins..paper towels...)...supermaket stuff...man 75/100 miles away...now that's a hike...now I know you live a serene..seculed lifestyle...I could not live like that...do I dare ask where the nearest hospital is...

All of those non-essential necessities can be bought on Amazon and other places. Many of the actual necessities also can, but 20' sticks of 6X6 1/4 wall square tubing, for example, is not one of them.

It's a measly 70 miles to a large hospital. In SoCal it may be only seven miles, but would take longer to reach, Medivac excluded.

That would take at least, half an hour, or more, to the hospital...

Yep. But I could always go to the clinic across the river, not that far from here. Then catch a helicopter ride if it's serious.

If I worried about the many what ifs in life I'd live in a bunker under a warehouse full of food, between a police station and a hospital. But I don't, so I'm fine with being here.

Besides, it wasn't all that long ago that people could live without hospitals, cars and ambulances, supermarkets, etc.
Some still can, to some extent.
