Oh let’s help the poor. The Brainerd Dispatch wants cash to read. I managed to find a short recent article out of Duluth.
https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/sports/never-a-dull-day-in-the-zoo-at-nhra-nationals
As a member of the BOD of Zoo due to our over 30 years of visiting and some of our group with over 35 years of experience I have a duty to explain. 300 acres of this great place on earth is transformed each August to the largest party on earth for several days. Enuf said there.
Most important IMO? The owners, drivers, and teams love the place AND IT IS WELL KNOWN if you know anything about drag racing. I have met and was honored to interact and talk with Forrest Lucas many times has he, his wife Charlotte and her sister would ride around the Zoo and stop by our well know campsite location every year. RIP brother. You were a great man who has sponsored things from the football stadium in Indy to worldwide Lucas Oil products and events like we have attended. He and about any driver and team worth a damn frequents the “yager” bar across from the Welcome to the Zoo sign for up close fun with the fans EVERY night. It is an amazing experience. Remember when we allowed 1/4 mile TF runs? Where was the last official top speed?
