They were and still are one of the nastiest looking stockers at the strip.

There is a red one that we see at some cruises around here that has a 413 max wedge with DRs on the back and is built for the track. I would love to have it but so far it's not for sale.

15.1 must have been spinning through 1st gear. 3800 test weight is more then what I would think

They reek nostalgia for old Mopar drag guys. So ugly that they’re eye magnets for us trying to put all the disjointed lines together. You can’t look at one without laughing. ‘63 pulled it together with both Plymouth’s and Dodge’s. Add the 426 that year and the ‘62’s were quickly forgotten. One of these would be a good choice for a Pro Mod 😳

These are one of my favorite cars from the past. I'm in the process of putting a Gen III 392 Hemi crate engine into my 62 Dart 440 Wagon out of Nevada. Was considering a Redeye engine, but because of all the extra modifications I would have to do to it for the oil cooler and intercooler I decided against it as it is too nice of a car too do it because I would need to modify some of the front section to make it work. Has 41,000 miles on it, original paint, was Poly 318, and is loaded, (9 Passenger, P.B., P.S., P.W., P.Tailgate, Radio, Deluxe Interiour, Front Seat Belts, Front Bumperettes, B.U. lights and A/C). I even have the original window sticker and build sheet. Should be a nice cruiser.

Actually they are lighter then advertised. The 62's were the lightest of all B-Bodys. My wagon was 3430 lbs on the scales. The 5.7, 6.1 abd 6.4 Gen III engines are 10 to 15 lbs lighter then a 225 Slant Six so just think what this is going to be like. Of course I am also installing Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes on as the drum brakes were always crap.

That was their test weight in the article with driver so I would think they actually weighed it. Shows 3540 curb weight.

That's another thing I like about it. Not many of them around.

Sixty Too Ugly as my dad said they were called.

He had one but not a 383 or 413 version. Then traded for a 63 Sport Fury.

Currently have this 65 in the family. Wanting to do a Hellcat swap in it some day.

Back in 2011 friend of mine had a ‘62 B-body that he ran with a built gen II 426 Hemi. He told me that after the first time it lifted the front wheels during a run, the doors wouldn’t open because the frame twisted.

Not unusual for cars back then. If you were making any kind of power, you had to tie everything together and reinforce. The manufacturers weren't used to building anything with power back then.

I guess he must not have connected and caged the car to prevent that from happening, either that or his cars chassis underneath was not in very good shape in the first place.
I wont be drag racing and will have just a slightly wider street tires on it so I don't need to worry about twisting it, it's just gonna be a nice driver.

I would have a little concern considering the age but that's just me.
