Also, companies are obligated to maximize earnings for their shareholders. Our corrupt/compromised politicians have set the table to make offshoring the most profitable. Trump is trying to fix that with tariffs.
You’re right, and I meant to bring that up.

But they need to.
I was never pro union...but in my 50 plus work years..I've seen both sides of the equation..I've seen unions ruin good employees..and bankrupt companies...and I've seen non union ownership run rough shod over employees as well....all of it driven by greed from both sides....:(

I've worked both, many more years (30) in non-union shops but I will say that as an auto worker, we are paid well but that is a very small portion of the cost of a vehicle compared to the overall expenses.
I also see a lot of people protected that should and would be fired in the real world.

I am trades, our compensation package is right in line or even lower than outside world, but it is stable, that's why I am here, I work 72-84 hrs a week, every week and have not been laid off, not even during covid.
Production is where the huge discrepancies are and they really need to start to appreciate what they have and stop whining!! My son works in production; he was a stellar employee everywhere he worked until a decade or two in the UAW:cautious:
