2.85 hellcat vs redeye?

From 1 pass to another it was a .1
But a couple runs earlier it ran within .04 on the stock tires.
That day it ran a 10.52 best with stock front and 10.46 best with skinnies. I'm always skeptical about the .10 claims. But I figured roughly .05-.07 with them. But the car varies a couple thou during the day so between that and trying to judge a gain. Well it gets a bit muddy.
It's to me kinda like the whole 3.09 being worth .2
2 weekend s ago another cat that runs good with a 3.09 was a couple hundredths slower than I was all day. But his 60' was better at a 1.50 , but 1/4 mph was a couple mph slower.

Btw you just saw a stock 2.62 geared cat cut a 1.50 60' on Sunday. So I still have my doubts about the gains claimed there also.

Unless you do some 1/8th mile racing the 3.09 is not a benefit and its harder to get out of the hole.especially on a small tire.

I had a 1.47 60 ft with my 3.09 IM SORRY I GOT THE DECIMAL WRONG AND TRANSPOSED THE NUMBERS I MEANT TO SAY .741 60FT MY APOLOGIES

Unless you do some 1/8th mile racing the 3.09 is not a benefit and its harder to get out of the hole.especially on a small tire.

For some reason his tires looked really short on top of that. Hoosiers I think. His 60' was less than .02 better than mine but we pretty much evened out around the 1/8. I would get him by .03-.07 and 2-3mph at the big end.
His best that day was a 10.52 and mine was a 10.46.

There are faster cars then Linda's that had 2.62s. So there pretty much even.

I DO HAVE MY 2.62 ON BACK UP AND IT WOULDNT BE A BAD IDEA TO CHANGE BACK CONSIDERING I WOUND UP ALMOST MISSING THE FLASH

I've tested both rear ends in multiple cars also. The 3.09 is still more difficult to get out of the hole. I currently run faster than she ever has in her car if it matters and we doing it with just a tune on the stock pulleys...

but the redeye has the demon engine right ,,,wouldn't that be comparing apples to oranges ,hellcat has smaller blower and also the cams are different right

Thought the whole point of this thread was comparing redeyes to hellcats..lol A pullied hellcat with a 2.85 makes about the same boost as a stock pullied redeye. A hellcat with upper and lower or one with a pulley smaller than a 2.85 should make more boost than a stock pullied redeye.

totally stock just a tune no pulleys upper or lower and your redeye is over a second faster then a stock redeye with drag radials phast hemi that's impressive results I cant even begin to wrap my small redneck brain around them UNBELIEVABLE results 112 1/8 ,144mph traps that I saw on a time slip of yours that had the1/8 and 1/4 mile times whited out ,must have been 9.5 or better all I can say is WOW ,I THINK YOU TUNE WITH CURT ,ID LOVE TO SEE ONE OF YOUR LOGS MAN I BET THEY ARE IMPRESSIVE I CAN ONLY HOPE TO GET INTO THE 9S

You may not realize who Simon (Phasthemi) is. The man can drive like nobody's business and he's made nearly a thousand passes or more by now last count. He's meticulous about his racing and logs. I'm not saying his word is God, but he's not just a run of the mill forum member. He's got a few records to back up his opinions.

If you guys lined up with the right stock redeye, I bet you would have a different opinion. lol I've outrun multiple 2.85 cars at the track with a stock redeye.

In fairness Simon, you're also drive better than the majority as well so it's not an apples to apples comparison without the same or very similar driver in both cars.

Physics alone say a 2.85 pulley Cat with a tune should have a very slight advantage over the Redeye due to the extra weight of the Redeye. Shouldn't be much but on paper...

I didn’t know you needed credentials to be on this forum , I thought a hellcat was enough, kudos to phast hemi for his accomplishments but you came up here saying I must not know who he is , like he all high and mighty not me , and yes I did get all bent out of shape

I didn't say anything like he is all high and mighty, in fact I was quite clear that I said his word is not God so that should have been simple enough to understand. I was simply explaining to you who he was in case you didn't know who you were chatting with. HIs accomplishments and meticulous nature of his logs for literally near 1000 1/4 mile passes in his previous Hellcat deserve credibility when he speaks. If you have credentials to back up your debate with him, I'd simply like to know, that's all. Just owning a Hellcat isn't enough though, plenty of people own Hellcat's and don't know the first thing about these cars, much less drag racing with them. You can be adult about it and just admit that he may know more than you about drag racing these cars.
