Hey, I'm going to be making a trip to Detroit (wish me luck?) and will be staying at a hotel on Woodward Ave. I may have some down time while I'm there waiting for a dyno to do its thing.


Can anybody tell me a spot or two to go visit while I'm there? Hopefully good weather.

suppose to be in the teens next week. I think you will be here the following week so don't know. With covid not sure what is open

Hi,

Not sure what to do as most things are closed or limited seating in restaurants due to the whole Covid deal. 25% capacities and close by 10pm.

If you're trying to pick a hotel go north of Royal Oak, 696, or better yet up towards 15 mile/Maple Birmingham is the nicer area so hopefully less bad elements, realistically I'm 55 miles north of Detroit and wouldn't stay anywhere near the city. Lots of dumb idiots in the news, but guess that's every major city.

A neat restaurant on Woodward is Vinsetta Garage, was a repair facility and turned into a bar/restaurant though haven't been down there since the unofficial dream cruise.

You are going to Detroit for f-ing DYNO TESTING? lol, awesome!

My recommendation is to do this immediately upon arrival on Woodward.

Went to the Empress Burlesque theater when I was 15. Yuck! Ugly women doing things like squats over flood lights while “Western Union Man” played over and over for every “act”.

Then when I came home from my first year of college, a high school buddy took some of us to the Lido on Eight Mile Rd. for its Titillating Table Top Revue where bare naked ladies danced on top of table we were having drinks at. What a town.

I d say stay in Canada since we are 3 minutes from downtown D

There are 3 Casino s downtown
Not sure their status currently with the Rona ?
As of Feb 1-21 diners are open at I believe 25 percent capacity so there are food / bar options

My advice
Stay North of 8 mile
