This is a crost post from the HP tuners forums (haven't gotten a reply on there but has 15 views so I got that going for me).
=====
So I've been looking at tinkering inside of HP Tuners and turning on torque reserve on my 2015 Challenger Hellcat. My first take was fake it till you make it and look at stock tunes that had it turned on and see if I could replicate that in my tune and test it at the track. I did a look in the tune repository and only found up to 2016 for stock Challenger Hellcats. These are the items I have identified inside of VCM Editor.

1. Turn on switch for Torque Reserve (47529)
2. Set the torque amounts per engines speed in the correct table (47501)

Are there any fueling requirements or spark modifiers that I would have to change? I'm sure this would all be apparent if I could find a stock tune that had this turned on and do a diff (best way I have learned so far). The car has a one-piece drive shaft and a differential brace. I also run 15PSI in my Hoosier bias ply so I do think that the drive train can take the hit. Any help would be appreciated. (I did look at a stock Demon file but don't know if those are numbers that I should go off of.)
=====

What I looked for in the HP Tuners repository was a 18 or newer Challenger stock tune so I could see the differences from my 15. Wanted to turn on torque reserve and test it at the track and see what it's like leaving under 4PSI of boost. Does anyone have a stock tune laying around that they would like to share? I have a stock Demon tune but I don't think the numbers are a good starting point as they might be too high.

I also forgot to mention, I'm running bias ply tires, 28x10x17 Race Masters from Hoosier and have a one piece DSS direct fit along with a diff brace so I think the mechanical drive train can take a 4PSI hit.

If anyone has a 2018 stock tune they'd like to donate it would be appreciated. I'm not trying to rip off a tune with values that someone put work in, not my style. Just want to do a diff on a stock tune with it turned on so I can try those settings on mine and give it a whirl at the track.

Mike from OST gave me a tune with it enabled in my 2016. Never got it to hook.

You can use the perimeters from a 2018 and up hellcat to enable it . It will give a torque reserve of 4 psi on a stock car .

I did some more diggin on the hptuners forums, found an A8 Stock Tune. Here are the values from my 2015:

Here are the values from the 2018 A8:
1602039326959.png

And the diff:

The plan is when I get home to do a read, apply the values from the 2018 HC Challenger for the the Torque Reserve switch and all of the tables open in the screen shots. Then I plan to go to the local school parking lot while empty and see how it performs through logging. Looking forward for this to be enabled and usable at the track, would be cool a nice to have as I have grown quite fond of launch control.

either that or I am going to get arrested for doing burnouts in the school parking lot...

I suspect this may be the reason it was left off. That it made launching just that much more difficult and seemed to add little to the stock car. But then again, weren't you fairly modded at that time?

After blowing the tires off using launch control every time I tried it, I haven't used it in 3 years.

Fast forward to how this story will end, as what you seek has already been done. The biggest issue is the 28" tall bias ply tire and 2015 do not have the ability to set LC in 100 rpm increments down to 1k. I tested this on a 28" radial on my 16 hellcat. You may be able to get LC to work, but leaving on boost aint gonna happen without smoking the tires or pushing through the beams.

Some interesting results from today's parking lot tests. I started out by doing a diff of the 2018 Hellcat A8 file and applying all column and row axis values to the following launch control tables:

[ECM] 47501 - Launch Control Torque Reserve (Slow Path)
[ECM] 9962 - Launch Control Fast Path Proportional Term
[ECM] 9959 - Launch Control Slow Path Minimum Error To Enable
[ECM] 9960 - Launch Control Slow Path Initial Torque Reduction
[ECM] 9961 - Launch Control Slow Path Initial Torque Reduction Multiplier
[ECM] 9957 - Launch Control Slow Path Proportional Term Multiplier
[ECM] 9958 - Launch Control Slow Path Integral Term

I wrote the tune and then drove to the local school parking lot, just my luck a little league game was going on... fak!
So I pull into the lot on the other side of the field far away from people.

Left it at 2000 RPM for the first test, made a whopping 6PSI of boost... Started to spin. Also got scared shit less cause of the way the wide bands sensors were knocking around. Here is a screenshot:
1602110818782.png

I undid the work. Although I didn't spin in 1500 or 1750 rpms I realized that the row and column axis modifications might not be worth it for me they were also wildly off. So I decided to go a different route. Currently heading back to the spot, having a moment of genius.

That's the plan in my case.

I'm hoping that some big tire cars lay down some rubber for me first...otherwise I don't have high Hope's. It's an airstrip...so no prep...

After blowing the tires off using launch control every time I tried it, I haven't used it in 3 years.
Foot brake only for mr. speedy...you also run pretty consistent. Any tips?

@fumanchu182 are you on the latest version of HPT?

That may be something you should update if you haven't. I've noticed some more things mapped for my 18 cal over the last version and so e things relabeled.

That may help in your quest.

Do you happen to have a stock read. I updated my HPT to 4.8 but the 2018 Hellcat A8 calibration might be stale. So I kinda fucked up. I had a good setup here.

Just went back and did more testing. Not a fan of this, I'm willing to leave launch control the way it is. Something I did notice is that the Demon Stock tune is more lined up with my 2015 Hellcat Stock tune... Wonder what that means. Scrapping all the tunes as Indont know what looks safe. Do you have any logs when you are on LC?
