Interesting
My thought process was how can I take that data, and make it operate the car to run from point A to point B in a certain time frame down to .01 second.

Bracket race cheating 😆
They actually do that in what is referred to as the “Electronics“ classes. In the NHRA those would be the “Super” classes. Boring as hell to watch 😂

The neighbor kids car has all that fancy stuff, he owns IRD carburetors i swear he has more electronics in that thing than a 777 Boeing. And he’s using Marc’s favorite brand. 😆

Throttle stop.
Not interested in NHRA but the big $$$$ bracket racing.
25/50/100k to win races.

There are a few ways people do it now. From time to time I start thinking of how it can be done differently.

What I see with the serious bracket cars are moderately powered cars that are light weight/big tire with a Powerglide that never spin the tires and run same number without the need for a lot of track prep. Those big money bracket races do not allow electronics that include timers or throttle stops. Our cars are way too heavy and powerful to compete with those things. You could always cut a good light and get lucky but probably not for 15 rounds of eliminations

. You saw my post. Lol. Yep If something can go wrong.. it will. It was basically down on enough power to loose 10 mph. 8.4 isn’t bad but disappointing at this point. At least we know what it was and it’s fixable without a tear down.

Couple of fun facts for the drag racers 🙃…. The shop Magnum (Dragnum) ran a 8.34 at 165 mph. That makes it the fastest Magnum in the universe. The shop Scatpak ran a 9.35 at 147 mph. That is a actual 392 with a 3.0 Whipple driven with the 6 rib serpentine belt and all accessories/full weight/daily driver. At 8.44 I’m the flop of the shop 😝

Haha. Thanks. You know too much to believe that. The trans is a hp90 transplant. That wasn’t really a option. They’re going to go to 8 rib pulleys and turn it up. Also I forgot to mention…. It’s a Charger.

Santa was tired but made it today 😎. New 3.8 Whipple with the DragPak manual valve body and IC conversion. Only two in existence 🫣. As AJ posted today after getting his on the dyno…. You’re all screwed. 😂 A7F9637A-74F7-4FF4-B757-2ABE205FC92A.jpeg

So….. The big question on what this thing weighs is in. We needed to get corner weights to make the much needed suspension adjustments to get it leaving hard and pointed straight down the track. It was evident by the twisting launch on our initial outing that the rear suspension needed adjustment. The track bar part of a 4-link like this one loads one side vs the other and is adjustable. I was told by the person who designed all this that the goal would be to load the right rear 10 lbs heavier than the left to get equal rear separation and front lift. It was doing anything but that, so we knew that it was out of wack. Here are the numbers after adjustments. We moved 30 lbs of bias from one side to the other and are happy with those results. She’s still a little heavier than I’m looking forward to but… 😏 0CBC0E7F-B8A7-40DE-832A-0BAD5137EB45.jpeg 46D37A15-98D7-496B-AB29-B9A4595DC1CD.jpeg

Btw…. This is with half tank (7 gal) and a full ice box (8 gal). So…… race weight without me in it. We’ll be right at 4000 lbs on track. That’s 550 lbs less than before with the IRS and all the accessories.

Nice! I've got some idea of how much it takes to make that kind of weight (Mine is with an empty ice box). Wild how two very different builds came out so close. Hope to see you at Houston

And for a couple of fat bottomed girls...they're still a little front heavy

She’s a big boobied girl 😂. I pulled a lot of weight out of the rear with the IRS replacement. The front got some with the wheels, brakes and coil overs but nowhere near what disappear out of the rear. The thing is, in spite of that…. with the way the suspension works, it is wheelie happy. If it was any lighter in the front… 😵‍💫. I know just about everybody has a wheelie pic now. Those are generally a single frame from what I would call a pop up. This thing now….. if you stayed in it without the bars would flip over. We have a program in the car now that will allow us to keep the “ride hight” under control with those sensors and not have to ride the bar for 200’. That can be exciting but not really desirable.
