Considering their upper end potential it is easy to see why; and why I've done two for myself. Got this one running two weeks ago:

No doubt, I figure they must be cheaper than most modern engines, easy to setup and tons of potential. I was a GM guy before I owned my Hellcat, I've had quite a few LS engine Camaros and Corvettes. To this day I still have no issues saying that GM builds some of the best powertrains in the world. Its the rest of their vehicle quality that has steered me away in recent years.

Same boat here. I bought into this Dodge because I wanted something different and complete.

Why Ford? It's a Foxbody... 3100lbs fully dressed for the dance. He could shave weight if he cared to, but it's getting done either way.
Why an LS? They're cheap to replace. So, set the world on fire with a budget motor, and if it pops, go into any Silverado in the junkyard and get a new one. (It's not really that easy, but that is the draw).

Put a Demon/RE motor in it, it will go quicker. The LS motors are cheaper but do not make as much power, bottom line.

The Hellcrate is what 13 or 15k?

They probably have all of that wrapped up into this car LOL.

As for making power im not sure what you mean by that. LS, Mod/Coyote, and Gen 3 Hemis have all been 6s at over 200mph. Heavily modded but the bones are there.

I mean exactly what I said, Gen 3 hemi will make more power but Gen 3 hemi is way more expensive.

Regarding top speed, yeah Goss is trapping faster than any of them, let me say that again, highest trap in X275 is Goss. There is a rumor that next year a few X275 cars are converting to Gen 3 Hemi.

Just the facts, all good.

I thought Bruder took the record back?

I don't follow it much any more, its splitting hairs at that level.
I have been trying for a few years to get my brother to build a gen 3 turbo for his 65 post car but he would rather keep screwing around with his 440. Either way, X275 isn't on my radar. Maybe Ultra Street but that is getting out of hand as well.

It is all out of control, the difference between a pro mod and a street car is steel roof and quarters and a VIN.
