I still find it very hard to find info on Mopar in general (at least info that is pertinent to or interests me. LOL). I'm sure this has been gone over many times on both sites but I couldn't get a part number or a real world dimension on searches so I jacked the RE today and measured the rear axle. I wasn't in a very good position as I wiggled under the car but I tried to mic the axle as best I could. It came back 40.18 (1st time) and 40.22 (second time). So I'll round it and say 40.2 axle diameter. Then I tried to get the numbers off the axle to see if it came back as a Demon axle when I googled it. When I googled both numbers on the axle tag , I got nothing. Nada. The P53010849AB especially looks like a legit Mopar part # to me.
Ok these are my questions:
1) Are my axle measurements good and is that the Demon axle diameter.
2) Why are both these numbers coming up empty? Does anyone know what these are or what is the actual Demon/ RE rear axle number?

I’ll go check my numbers but I’ve been told 309’s have the larger axles? Don’t know if it’s true be right back. John

Thanks a ton John. I didn't realize you were going to check the actual axles on the car. I thought you were gonna look up some info you had. LOL. You didn't have to do that. I am just baffled that nothing comes up on google on that number. Also can't find a definitive measurement on axle diameter.

I’ll see what the information the dealer have. My cars up in the air so it was no problem.

They are the same axles as the Demon. Doesn't matter widebody or regular body, 2.62 or 3.09.

This is from FCA

This is the demon specs.
Driveline components have been upgraded to get all that power and torque to the rear wheels, on every run.

Changes include:
  • Upgraded prop shaft with a 15 percent increase in torque capacity. The prop shaft uses high-strength steel. Shaft tube thickness increases by 20 percent and the stub shafts are heat treated for enhanced durability
  • The rear differential housing has 30 percent more torque capacity. The housing is made from heat-treated A383 aluminum alloy. New material for the gear set has higher fatigue strength, with a deeper case hardening depth and two-step shot-peening manufacturing process to increase compressive residual stress
  • The rear half shafts are larger in diameter; use a high-strength, low-alloy steel; and have 41 splines (up from 38), delivering a 20 percent increase in torque capacity. Eight-ball joints handle more torque, while reducing operating temperatures by more than 86 degrees Fahrenheit
This is from FCA for the Redeye
Additional features from the SRT Demon that help the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye achieve its status as the most powerful, quickest and fastest muscle car:
  • Torque Reserve delivers up to 3.9 psi of boost at launch and up to 55 percent more engine torque
  • Only factory production car with both SRT Power Chiller™ and After-Run Chiller
  • High-strength steel prop shafts provide a 15 percent increase in torque capacity
  • 41-spline half shafts provide a 20 percent increase in torque capacity

I'll add it is nearly impossible to find any CV's in the world identical to the eight ball joints they have engineered for the rear half shafts. You can find all kinds of six, and very good ones, but not the eight ball variety.

I typically use RockAuto to cross validate part numbers.
