There is a JT CAI for sale here and I was tempted to make the jump. Basically doing it for the sound increase, but lately have driven in some rain which I typically avoid. Is there any risk to having a CAI if rain is a possibility? Last thing I want to do is harm my Hellcat as it is a daily driver for the most part. Appreciate any advice.

Do not know if it helps or how much, but if you look on the hood above the CAI that air intake has a cover over it. I havenot had a problem but don't drive mine much in the rain but have at times for hours.

Factory stuff is engineered to handle rain and washing car. I am suspect of aftermarket parts with the rain and washing.

I have the Jlt and love it when it sits I just cover it or I bolt the plastic shield under the hood to cover it , the filter wears cover keeps the water out as well, I think it’s a great buy

I believe that the one for sale has a water resistant sock for the filter.

Water resistant socks are available. I should stay quiet here as I never, ever drive my Hellcats in the rain. That would anger the MoPar Gods.

Letting them sit is worse. ;)

The rain shield is sufficient for HEAVY rain.

I have the b woody with the water resistant sock on it. Works great. Plus I have the shield there as well. I don’t typically drive her in the wet.. but sometimes I get caught out on the way to the shore or something. Definitely good to have the sock, especially with the 19’ I’m sure at higher speeds and heavy rain it will get through the right nostril a bit. It’s peace of mind having it on.

Ran with the LMI shield originally, removed it, and run with the open filter with the JLT block off plate. No issues either when washing the vehicle.
