Thought I read somewhere the ticket was only $180. Could that be right?

Jesus, that's going to hurt...

The last big ticket I got, 30+ years ago, cost me $1500, and I wasn't going that fast...

Oh, just speeding? I suspected something juicier than that.
Like maybe blowing 0.11 or 0.12.

I’m with you! Used to do that in my new 1969 383 Road Runner most every night after my 3-11 shift on a 3 mile open stretch of the I-376 Parkway West in Pittsburgh. It was a Summer job when I was in college. It would bury the 120 speedo with the 3.23 rear at 4,200 rpm’s and would pull up to 5,600 rpm’s. I hit over 5,000 rpm’s in 4th gear just about every night. Never got a ticket! That front end was floating but it was a thrill for sure! I guess I broke that motor in just right because when I could afford headers, a 4.30 rear and some 7” slicks, it ran consistent 13.2’s at 104 mph. That was a pretty good street fighter back then! Miss those good old days!

That car was way under-rated, I never put it on a dyno, but it made so much torque and was able to pull crazy topspeeds for a 2.3L Turbo.

It did so with a touch of luxury as well...I seem to remember...it wasn't all that cheap either...

Certainly for the era it was.

Honestly, looking at that picture, if I had it in me, I'd take it back.

Even with the the roads deserted, you need to have countermeasures in place before doing shite like this !
Tho if they are running laser and you're going that fast, you're likely screwed even if you have a jammer.

LEO Testimony at trial:

"Your Honor, this SOB was approaching the speed of sound as he passed me. I was unable to catch him in my cruiser at it's top speed."

Judge:

"Son, you're going to jail."

Here the cops are told not to pull anyone over now. That's in addition to their standard no-pursuits policy.
Good thing fuel is cheap, as I use a lot of it.

On that t-bird.... knew an incredibly hot, funny girl who had one with a locomotive air horn wired up to it. Fun times.

180 MPH, he's lucky he was not arrested instantly. I'd like to see the rest of the ticket... looks like that's the only charge.... Here I was able to get a doc I know off for 110 in an 80 or something. I can't remember. But 180... chances are in this town you're going to the hoos-gaw. And if I'm the state trooper taking you in, I'm going to stay at the seen with you in the back so you can watch the tow truck load your car on the trailer before carting you off to the slippery soap hotel. Figures it would be one of you "door challenged" folks.... :)
