I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death already but I need some tips/pointers since I haven't been to the track in years and Mexico is too far a drive.

Car: Charger HC

Settings: What do you veterans put it in? Track mode? Or a combination of track/sport?

Tires: I'm at 32 psi on the rears, Nitto 555r, should it be deflated to 28 psi? More or less?

Burnout: Duration if any? Or just create a huge smoke and roll up to line?

Throttle: Pedal to the metal? Or is there a way to launch the beast that will give the best 1/4 time?

Any other tips/tricks for the drag strip?

Nittos love to be heated.
You will have lots of fun doing a good ole smokey burnout !
PSI are you using stock 20 inch wheels?
If so start with 20 psi depending how they hook go up or down 1 psi at a time.

Do you have a Diff Brace and upgraded driveshaft?
Highly recommended for peace of mind.

Linda :)

I have Rohana 11in wheels in the back. No diff brace or driveshaft.

20 psi is LOW but hey I'll try it if I can get my 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

I ran my NTO5's at 16 psi but I was only giving them a light fuzz in the burnout box.
I had mixed results and this may have been because I wasn't warming them up enough.
This was on my Scat. IMG_2875.JPG

The 2018s have a stronger Driveshaft.
On 2015s......the Driveshafts twisted up pretty easy. But the Differential gear box is the weak link on Hellcat any kind.I am very happy having a Diff brace. Gives me peace of mind.

With out any mods 1.5x is a Good 60 ft.
Getting an 11.00 or under will be good ETs to start with Nittos.
Don't be afraid to ask for water to be sprayed so the so the water box is not dry.
It is important after you burnout to start rolling forward and trying to stay straight.
For launching ......I just smashed the throttle to the floor when my car was not Tuned. If at anytime after launching the back end goes sideways or you feel a rumble coming from underneath get out of the run by easing off the throttle.

The best practice is to get to the track and practice !
My buddy said that I am going to need at least a 100 passes to become proficient and when He told me this I was thinking yeah right.
Now I think He is spot on!

I have a Challenger, not sure if it is relevant to the Charger. I use Custom mode at the track with these settings, Transmission in Track, Traction in Sport and Suspension in Street. This has given me the best times at the drag strip with drag radials. It does take quite a bit of practice to get a good launch.

I would say that is about right. I am almost at 100 passes and I feel I am getting good now.

First, listen to Linda! Secondly, I would highly suggest getting Demon Springs from High Horse Performance. These knocked my 60' down .1 and really helped me get out of the hole.

https://highhorseperformance.com/hh...gs-2015-2019-6-2l-charger-challenger-hhphcrs/

Linda also mentioned heating up the Nittos. Here is my high 11 second bolt on G8 GXP with Nitto drag radials (NT05R) and this is about the burnout length that the Nitto's like. One thing I learned since then is to go around the water area and back into the water, then get your smoke show.

Heat those Nittos up good. Like John Force would lol. Start around 20psi and adjust from there. If this is something you want to continue, at least upgrade with Bravados and MT ET Rs. Even better go to 17's.

As far as settings, put it in custom. Trans I run in track (some use sport), Susp = Street & Traction = Sport as it was already mentioned

Will have to go through trial and error really on launch (same with tire pressure). Some go from idle, some from 1000, 1500. All depends on set up, track prep, etc.

Also, look into the burnout box or tazer for the line lock feature.

GLHF.

Agree on above, 315 Nitto NT05R, I’ve run them as low as 17 psi, a bit slushy at the high end though, found 18 PSI at the track best for them, did a 10.74 on them. I run them on the street as well, at 24-26 psi and put down consistent 3.3-3.5 0-60’s and 11.3 quarters on the pavement, M6 btw. I’ll be trying 17” 315’s this spring, they’re ready and waiting.
