When I was data logging with T1000 I am pretty sure the car was using the Front tires for the speed most of the time. I think it will use the back if the front data is unavailable for any reason. I came to this conclusion by comparing my time slips to the data logs and so on. This was also done with 26" rear tires and should have been real easy to confirm with this large variance in tire diameter (front were 28.7"). Something to think about, not trying to start an argument.
Perhaps that's true for what you observed for your case with the Diablo. In my case, I clearly see wheel speed based on rear wheels when I log. Can't get any more obvious when you see 80 mph for speed during a burn out when the car isn't moving. This is with HPTuners. What channel or pid you log for speed can also affect what you see.

It has been a while ago. I am sure it was just vehicle speed. The reason I said it may get it from the back wheels sometimes is because every once in a while it would give me a speed that was a lot higher than on the time slip. But most of the time they matched. I can't remember what it did during the burnout.

I am pretty sure when the car had the short rear tires on it the speedometer was corrent when compared to the traffic radar awareness displays. So I am thinking short rear tires will not mess up your spedometer when the front tires remain stock diameter. Anyone else have experience with this?

Got them installed yesterday. My 305’s were done. Sanded down the beads and notched them to hopefully keep these from spinning.

Crazy how ridged the frames are on these cars. Was jacking it up to put jack stands under it and had 3 wheels off the ground. 9F69301D-B5A6-45E5-860E-30E599ED82FF.jpeg 0801626B-9D7C-4572-9830-10AA4E1819D1.jpeg DA378A6A-6912-478B-B87F-13DC2DF7F074.jpeg

Notice the same on mine when I lift it. I've posted about that before (can't remember, hear or the other place). I'm surprised how many still feel need to brace and gusset. I guess every bit helps especially in road racing.

Just a sharp chisel. Roughly every half inch.

What a ratchet hand used to look like, done to roughen the surface so it’s not slippery vs if it was smooth. Good idea, did you angle the chisel so the “teeth” made bite into the bead Better if it tries to spin?

Nice job. Took some balls ,skill and ingenuity hittin' your rim with a chisel like that.

If it works I’ll be very pleased. If not I’ll upgrade to bead locks. Was hoping not to have to make that jump.

Never used them. Somebody on here (can't remember who) had a thread about what a PIA they are.

I swapped over. Helped a little bit. Still can’t get my 60’ to drop under 1.45

I keep blowing the tires on the hit. I got to try taking power out of it on launch.
