Finally got the car back to the track after a good amount of new modifications. The IC chiller aux tank worked great, kept the IC coolant temps at 32 all throughout the pass.

Ran personal bests (by far) all the way around!

Unfortunately, the stock 2015 axle decided to leave the chat after the last prep of the night 😆. Safe to say I finally found their limit.

Car exceeded what I thought it might do, proving you never know until you run it. Still a lot more there!

Will be back to the grind (and finding the new weak link) after I upgrade the axles. Very fortunate it broke where it did.

Please enjoy the carnage 🤣

Thanks! Yeah, it owes me nothing ha. Worked very well and got me a clean personal best pass before its way out - can't ask for any more.

Congrats!
All it takes is some tire shake and bye bye stock axle. I had better axles and driveshaft in my car before breaking into the 9's for this very reason

Jon and I are upgrading to the BBGSPEED axles this year. I'm also replacing my driveshaft with a Gulfcoast driveshaft from Tampa, close to you.

Well of course I had to do "one more pass" after the 9.3 seeing the 60' still had more I could make up in 🤣

Thanks @vortecd! This is the first I'm hearing of Gulfcoast for driveshafts for our platform, are people running them with good success?

The car has been 9.8 on these axles 20 times or so. 9.3? Not so much

I'm going to say the competitor probably starts with a W
That doesn't look like the W driveshaft but I believe you are correct because they don't balance them, they are hit or miss. Not sure how can just build a driveshaft and not check if it is balanced

nope, I have one I bought a couple of years ago. Talked to them on the phone and they said they are hit or miss. I need to get it balanced. Decided to get a gulfcoast and keep the other for a backup

My box stock axles in my Hellcat never had any issues in 100+ passes. I wouldn't get too exotic maybe upgrade to RE axles and call it good.

Really comes down to wheel hop. If you never run into it then low 9s would be fine for redeye axles but only takes one time to break them. For the most part I have not had any but something must have been going on with the track when I broke into the 9s and had wheel hop a few times so it came from out of the blue. We made some changes but kept doing it that day

If I would have had stock axles they would have been toast

It's been a minute since I had the Hellcat but I don't remember too much wheel hop...maybe a time or two.

Unholy's car was a 6speed at first, so it's possible this axle got some hard use prior to this break.

My buddy Chad clutch dumped is 9 second M6 Hellcat from 4K on stock axles and I don't think he ever broke one.

I've seen A LOT of people post about random problems with aftermarket axles. KISS is my motto there.
