Stellantis knows that the vast majority of Wrangler owners have never been off asphalt or ever want to be. Most have never seen snow. The problem is, Stellantis marketing does not realize the reason these urbanites buy a Wrangler! It is the lure of what some Wranglers “can do”. Much like people buying a 6cyl Mustang, Camaro or Challenger. People like to drive vehicles that are very similar to the extreme performers and live in that image at bargain prices. Side note: I loved the Lincoln LS, but they didn’t offer it with a Mustang GT engine and manual trans. That would have completely changed the image and sold a lot more of them!
Stellantis thinks that since urban buyers like the adventure image of the Wrangler, and they like EV’s also, then they will doubly like EV Wranglers. That will work, for maybe 2 years, until the urbanites realize it is no longer a real off road vehicle, then no one will want it.
